Couples’ Gliding Experience
Couples’ Gliding Experience flights must be booked in advance. Both participants must be booked for the same date and time. Bookings are available from April to October, normally on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Upon booking you will be advised of the time you should arrive at the airfield, BUT this will not necessarily be the time you will fly. The club is often busy and Gliding Experiences may be slotted in with other flights; therefore you should be prepared to be at the club for at least an hour or so.
Gliding is very much a co-operative sport where everyone helps each other and you are welcome to join in. Your flying tuition will be in one of the club’s two-seater gliders with a British Gliding Association qualified instructor, who will give you a full briefing before take off.
For safety reasons, all members and visitors who fly with us must meet or exceed certain minimum medical requirements, and be neither too heavy nor too light for correct ballasting of the aircraft. A Couples Gliding Experience discounted to just £99 and consists of a single winch launch for each person leading to soaring flights of approximately 8 to 10 minutes each.

Hello I want to do a couples experience for myself and my wife on the 27th of may I just want to understand whether we both wud be in the same flight or not and given that I’ve never flew we wud have an instructor as well??

Hi Jackie, unfortunately we can’t give you precise dates before you book, but we operate courses on Sat, Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri throughout the season. Once booked you can speak to Lyn Bone to agree a specific date and time.
I understand ESGC fly on Bank Holidays in addition to their normal days of operation. Students on a Go for Gliding course have the option of spreading their flights over more than one day.
