Essex & Suffolk Gliding Club is moving home
After 36 wonderful years of flying at Wormingford Airfield, the Essex & Suffolk Gliding Club is moving on.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the historic airfield that has been our home since 1990.
Over the last three decades, we have welcomed hundreds of pilots, watched countless members achieve their first solo flights, and built an incredibly strong, vibrant aviation community. Leaving Wormingford is a poignant moment for all of us, but this is far from the final chapter.
The club continues to look firmly toward the sky. While we are temporarily without a permanent active airfield of our own, ESGC is very much alive. Our members are remaining active by utilizing temporary facilities at other regional clubs, and our leadership team is working hard behind the scenes to secure and prepare our next home.
The wings of ESGC will fly again, and we look forward to coming together as a community at a new site in the near future!
